Bottled at 52% ABV, this small-batch expression leans into richness, with layers of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, burnt caramel and soft mandarin citrus, all wrapped in warming spice and gentle oak.

The port cask influence adds depth without overpowering the spirit — creating a whisky that feels generous, layered and quietly complex.

Rather than chasing consistency for consistency’s sake, we’ve embraced character. Each release is intentionally small, allowing the grain, cask and time to shape something genuinely individual.

FAQs

What makes Crystal Malt Whisky different from Lanky?

Both are part of our first Aged Series release, but they’re shaped by different barrels. Crystal Malt is port cask finished, which brings in layers of dark chocolate, roasted coffee and rich mandarin citrus that you won’t find in Lanky. If Lanky is bold and caramel-forward, Crystal Malt is richer, darker and more indulgent.

What does port cask finishing mean?

After initial maturation, the spirit spends additional time in barrels that previously held port wine. The residual port soaks into the wood and slowly transfers flavour compounds into the whisky adding depth, sweetness and those distinctive dark fruit and chocolate notes.

Should I add water?

At 52% ABV it’s approachable neat, but a few drops of water can unlock the mandarin and chocolate notes beautifully. Worth trying both ways.

Is this a limited release?

Yes! extremely limited. Crystal Malt is a small-batch first edition from our Aged Series. Once this batch is sold, it won’t return in the same form. Each Aged Series release is a one-of-a-kind expression.

What food does it pair with?

Dark chocolate, coffee, blue cheese or a rich dessert. The port cask influence makes it an exceptional after-dinner drink, it’s genuinely indulgent.
